Song Surgeon for MAC is Finally Here!

Projected Launch Date:
December 15, 2010

Check this page often for updates on the status of Version 3,
As we will periodically post new information and new videos about it.

Song Surgeon 3.0 is has been under development since early January of 2010. The anticipated release date is in the middle of September. The countdown clock at the top of this page reflects this date.

Version 3, when released, will become the GOLD standard by which all other slow down products are measured.

Among the many changes that you will see are the release of a Standard version and a PRO version. The standard version will be the continuation of our existing product -- of course with many changes and improvements. The PRO version will be a more advanced product that will have:

  • Detailed editing capabilities,
  • Audio sniffing capabilities
  • A tabbing and/or musical notation section; and,
  • A new sound engine.

The NEW sound engine, found in both the Standard and the PRO versions, will enable you to slow songs down to 25%, even 10% with NO distortion. We are extremely excited about Version 3 and are working hard to complete it on schedule and get it into your hands.

For more details about this new version, please watch the video to the right of this page. If you'd like to, please register for our drawing to win one of 25 great FREE prizes including copies of the PRO version. Also, we would appreciate your comments about Song Surgeon, whether you are an existing customer, a trial user, or someone just examining it for the first time. Enter you comments in the form and they will appear in the comments section below.

As of 10/18/10, I am posting this mockup of the new GUI for Song Surgeon Version 3. We are still about 4-6 weeks away from launch, but we are making good progress. Stay tuned for more.

Please leave us your comments on Song Surgeon. I clicked violin, but I play viola. My teacher wants me to slow down songs for practice.

Please leave us your comments on Song Surgeon. In 35 years off studying the guitar I've been hoping for a tool like this. And now that I learn that there are developements towards a professional version I'm really excited. Can't wait to work with your outstanding product. Just great.

Please leave us your comments on Song Surgeon I entered before, but I want to check what PC operating systems will your program work on?
Song Surgeon works on both MACs and Windows OSs. However, this new Version 3, currently under development is for Windows. As soon as the windows version is done, we will look at updating the MAC version. On the Windows side of things, Song Surgeon works on XP, Vista and Windows 7

I like song surgeon it's easy to use can't wait for version 3, if only you can change the key of a song say from A to G or G to A etc, etc. But it's a great program.
Domenic -- you can change the key by cents or by half steps as much as two octaves.

I'm using SS for just a while and it's a really great tool. Especially when it comes to learn solos - just think about those poor guys many years ago scratching their vinyls ;-) Can't wait until V3 will be available!

I am playing Guitar and just tried out Version 2.0. It really helps me by learning my favorite riffs from ACDC :-). I love the program (and my son, playing drums, loves it too). Version 3.0 seems have features which will give me even more ways to learn in an efficient way. A good deal!

Wonderful! I have never heard of your program. I have children using CD's to help them in their strings programs, but the CD's are performed at too fast a tempo. I would love to get a copy of this.

Hello, I would like to win a free copy of Song Surgeon 3 because the Song Surgeon 2 that I purchased does not work. Tech support tells me to do the same thing over and over; doing more of what doesn't work does not help. Thanks.

Very interested in the new version.. had a brief look at version 2, but thinking I should wait till version 3 comes out before I buy. Perhaps you have upgrades? Should I wait?

This sounds pretty awesome. I definitely know that slowing down a song will help you learn it note for note and get the phrasing right. Better than tabs, and probably better than a teacher. Perfect.

Truly Amazing! I have learned so much with Ver 2.0 that I cannot wait for 3.0! Being able to select several areas to slow down/loop and practice in order instead of doing each seprately will be awesome. HURRY OCTOBER 15th! Thanks again, Jeff

Im very excited about this program. With the help of version 2.0.2, i was able to nail the fast riffs of many metallica's songs, and im still a beginner when it comes to playing electric guitar. i'd love to try the editing options of the pro version of SS3, cant wait for you guys to release the beast!!!.

Im a guitar enthusiast, and everything software related to learning to play the instrument or learning a song, the way its meant to be, interest me. i really would like to give SonSurgeon3 Pro a try, since i can tell the new features ar just mind blowing. I've tried the version 2.0.2 in the past, and it really got me rolling on certain songs that i coulndt play the way it was meant to, because they were too fast for me, but after practicing with SS2, i managed to at least play them at 80-90% of the speed (and in some cases, 100%!!)... so if that happened with SS2, i dont even wanna know (actually, i do) what i could achieve with SS3!.

This looks to be a great tool for guitar players to learn those hard to hear fast licks!
